WHAT COLON HYDROTHERAPY IS

A water-based
wellness session
for internal cleansing
Advanced Colon hydrotherapy at Iowa Colonics is a private, guided, non-medical wellness session that uses warm, temperature-regulated filtered water to help the colon flush what has not been moving out. The process happens through clean, closed-system equipment, so water and waste release through contained tubing.
During the session, warm water moves through the colon in gentle fill-and-release cycles. A sterile, single-use rectal nozzle is used for your session, and Joanna guides the process from start to finish. As the water softens and loosens stool, trapped gas, and waste, that material leaves the body through the closed-system tube.
The goal is simple and specific: help the colon empty in a private, guided, carefully paced setting.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING A SESSION
A calm, guided experience from
start to finish.
Your time is private, unrushed, and fully supported. Here’s what you can expect.
Every session is unique, and your comfort and peace of mind come first.
1
ARRIVE, SETTLE IN, AND CHANGE
You arrive at the private Iowa Colonics office in Fairfield, Iowa. You are greeted, shown to the restroom, and given time to settle in. You change into a session gown before entering the session room. Bottoms come off, your top stays on, and socks are fine.
2
THE SETUP IS EXPLAINED
Joanna walks you into the session room, shows you the unopened single-use speculum kit, explains the setup, and answers any final questions.
3
NOTHING BEGINS UNTIL YOU ARE READY
You lie on your left side while the speculum is gently inserted using organic coconut oil as lubricant. The inflow and drainage tubes are then attached.

4
THE SESSION IS GUIDED THE WHOLE TIME
You turn onto your back and settle in. Warm, filtered water flows through the closed-system setup in repeated fill-and-release cycles, while Joanna stays in the room and adjusts the pacing, flow, and pressure in real time.
5
YOU HAVE TIME TO FINISH
Plan for about 60 to 90 minutes on site, with roughly 45 minutes of active session time. When the session is complete, you have time to clean up, get dressed, and leave without feeling rushed.
YOU ARE IN CONTROL
You can ask questions at any time, request an adjustment, or stop the session whenever you need to.
EVERY SESSION IS INDIVIDUAL
Iowa Colonics does not promise a specific
result. Our focus is on a safe, comfortable, private
and respectful experience that supports
your wellness goals

FIRST-TIME COMFORT

Questions People Quietly Have Before Their First Session
The process is personal, but it does not have to feel confusing, exposed, or awkward.
Will this feel embarrassing?
It is personal, but it is not treated like something awkward.
At Iowa Colonics, the tone in the room is calm, professional, and matter-of-fact. You are given privacy to change, the setup is explained before anything begins, and you are guided step by step so you are not left wondering what to do.
Most people expect the experience to feel stranger than it does. Once they understand the room, the process, and Joanna’s steady guidance, the embarrassment usually softens quickly.
“I went into it a bit nervous, but Joanna’s calming and grounded presence immediately put me at ease.”
Will I be exposed?
You are more covered and less exposed than most people assume. The positioning is simple, and the parts of the process that feel most personal are handled professionally and without unnecessary attention.
“I feel comfortable the whole time I’m on the table.”
Will I be left alone?
No. You are supported the entire time. If something feels off, it can be addressed in real time, you do not need to wait, signal from another room, or figure it out on your own.
“I didn’t feel like I was just another number to them, she took her time.”
“As someone completely new to colonics, I was nervous about the process. But from the moment I arrived, Joanna’s calming and grounding presence immediately put me at ease.”

Is this clean?
The speculum kit is sterile, sealed, and single-use. The room is prepared before you arrive, and the session uses closed-system equipment with sealed tubing throughout.
“The experience was super professional, very thorough...”
“The treatment room itself is serene and comfortable...”
Can I stop?
Yes. At any point. For any reason. Stopping is not a disruption, it is a normal part of how sessions are handled. There is no pressure to push through anything.
“Joanna never rushed me through it.”
“She let me guide the way based on my own tolerance.”
Will I know what to do?
There is nothing you need to figure out on your own. You do not need to know how the equipment works or manage the process yourself. The appointment is explained clearly, and you are guided through each part as it happens.
“From the time I first inquired to the end of my colonic, the communication and information was great.”
“They tell you exactly what to do to prep for the treatment to get the most out of it. They are very thorough!”
WHY IOWA COLONICS
Why People Choose Iowa Colonics
A colonic is personal.
Before someone schedules, they are not only asking, “Does this service make sense?” They are asking, “Can I trust this place with something private?”
That is why the setting, the process, and the person guiding the session matter.
At Iowa Colonics, the experience is calm, clean, appointment-based, and guided from start to finish. You are not walking into a crowded clinic, a busy spa, or a high-volume service where people are moved in and out.
You are coming to a private Main Street office built for one focused purpose: helping colon hydrotherapy feel clear, respectful, and possible.

Guided by Joanna, the Owner of Iowa Colonics
Iowa Colonics is owner-operated by Joanna Ayala in Fairfield, Iowa. Your session is not passed between a rotating staff or handled like a routine appointment by someone disconnected from the work. Joanna personally guides the experience, explains the setup, stays present, adjusts the pacing, and gives you room to communicate throughout the session. For a first colonic, that matters. You are choosing someone you can trust to guide you through a personal process with steadiness, privacy, and care.
One Service. One Focus.
Iowa Colonics focuses on one thing: private, guided Advanced Colon hydrotherapy. That focus shapes the entire experience. The office is quiet. The session room is prepared. The process is explained. The appointment is centered around the reason you came. There is no crowded multi-service lobby. No unfamiliar energy from other appointments happening around you. No feeling like your visit is being squeezed between unrelated services. The space is built around colon hydrotherapy, and that is why the experience feels clear from the moment you arrive.
Why Clients Make The Drive To Iowa Colonics
Clients come from Fairfield and surrounding Iowa communities, including Ottumwa, Mount Pleasant, Washington, Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, and Des Moines. They come because colon hydrotherapy is not just about finding the nearest place. It is about finding the right place. People do not drive over an hour for a generic wellness appointment. They make the drive because they want the colonic handled right. in a private room, with a clear process, steady guidance, and a level of care that makes the experience feel worth it before they ever get on the table.
“Joanna was very warm, friendly and made me feel very comfortable with the whole experience.”
“Joanna is very professional
and calming.”
“The room is decorated very nice and I feel comfortable the whole time I’m on the table.”

SESSION PROGRESSION
Why One Session May Not Be The Full Picture

A single colonic can be a clear starting point. You see the room, understand the equipment, feel the pace, and know what the experience is actually like.
It also gives you a chance to build comfort and rapport with Joanna, so the next appointment does not feel as unfamiliar. You have already been in the space, asked questions, experienced the process, and felt how the session is guided.
Many clients choose to work in a short block of sessions instead of treating one appointment as the whole picture. That gives the process more structure. You know when you are coming in, how the sessions are spaced, and you are not deciding from scratch after every appointment.
Iowa Colonics explains this through the Four Phases, an observational framework for how sessions may build over time. The framework is not a promise, a prescription, or a requirement. Individual experiences vary.
For clients who are ready to approach colon hydrotherapy as a series, rather than deciding one appointment at a time, Iowa Colonics offers session packages. A single-session option is also available.
Iowa Colonics does not promise a specific result, and there is no pressure to choose more than what feels right for you.
